Kohana Wilson (they/them) is a Japanese-English animator, director and educator based in Brooklyn. They use 2D frame-by-frame animation processes in their work, often using paper and pencil. Gender fluidity, nonsense gravity and dense illustration shape the tilted realities created within their work. They are an adjunct professor in the Illustration department at the Parsons School of Design, where they teach animation and drawing classes. Their graduation film, 'edith and the tall child', won Slamdance Festival's Grand Jury Prize for Animated Shorts, and has been screened internationally. They have worked on EMMY-nominated productions and direct music videos, animated documentaries, short films and episodic shows. Their previous clients include Netflix, Bento Box, Hulu, GIPHY, Atlantic Records, Capitol Records, Columbia Records, Hollywood Records, and more.

They are always keen to work on new projects - feel free to reach out via email!
